- Declutter: One of the best ways to help your house sell is to declutter it. When you declutter your house it will make it feel bigger and like it has more space. Make sure to not cram stuff into a closet or your garage. You can go through everything and clear out all the essentials. This will make your home feel more open and bright, which buyers love.
- Have great lighting: If your house is lighted nicely, it will look a lot better than if it was dim. It will also feel more homely and inviting for buyers. If you can let sunlight in that’s great, but you can also add more/better lighting to your home. If it is sunny out, have your curtains drawn and leave lights on for scheduled showings.
- Get rid of bad odors: If your home has bad odors from things like pets or cooking, it can drive buyers away. The first thing you need to do is address the bad odors (if there are any). You may also not realize that there are any bad odors so you may want to ask an outsider like your realtor. Once you find any bad odors you need to get rid of them. Also, if you have pets you might want to consider taking them with you or dropping them off somewhere during open houses and scheduled showings because not all buyers enjoy pets.
- Landscape makes a big difference: The first thing buyers will see when going to your house is the landscape. When making your landscape look nice, remember that you don’t need to do anything huge or too extravagant. All you need to do are things like planting some flowers/plants, mowing your lawn, tidy your yard up, etc. Even if you don’t have a yard, you can still have flower pots on your porch, and other things like that around your house. It’s the little things that count, and you will want to make a good impression with your buyers.
