There will be a virtual science forum for Cherry Point this Saturday! This will be the 8th annual Cherry Point Science Forum and will focus on the balance in our local food chain, food web interactions, and how fragile the balance is between the predator and prey. This event will teach people about changes in the area, and the relationships between the birds and aquatic food resources. The first expert speaker will be Dr. John Bower of WWU who will be talking about marine bird monitoring by using survey data to show the species of birds that usually use the resources in the area. The second speaker will be Dr. Rachel Arnold of Northwest Indian College who will be speaking on the finfish of the Nooksack River. Finally, the last speaker will be Dr. Arnold who will be giving insight on population structure and biology of the Hooligans (also known as Spirinchus thaleichthys) of the Nooksack River.
