On September 14, the city of Bellingham will be doing a virtual video tour of the Squalicum Creek Re-Route Phases 3 and 4 habitat restoration project site. This project will help reduce stream temperatures, restore riverine wildlife, improve water quality functions, and more! The Re-Route project will restore 2/3 of the man-made Bug Lake to a forested wetland and will be adding a new fish-passable culvert under Squalicum Parkway. After the virtual video tour of the Re-Route, there will be a live Q&A session with City staff who will be able to answer all questions about the project, the Squalicum Creek watershed, and other things related. This virtual event will be on next Monday, the 14th, from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm. For more information: https://www.bellingham.org/events/virtual-tour-of-squalicum-creek-habitat-project/
